Key Highlights

• Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD): Known as Monkey Fever, KFD is a tick-borne viral haemorrhagic disease first reported in Karnataka's Kyasanur Forest in 1957. The virus belongs to the Flavivirus genus and the tick-borne encephalitis complex.

• Dongfeng-100 Supersonic Cruise Missile: Dongfeng-100, also called Changjian-100 (CJ-100), is a Chinese supersonic cruise missile revealed during China's 70th National Day parade in 2019, with precision strike capabilities against varied targets.

• National Milk Day: Celebrated annually on November 26, this day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, the pioneer of India's dairy revolution, and highlights the importance of milk through events and initiatives.

• PAN 2.0 Project: Approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs with a financial outlay of ₹1,435 crore, PAN 2.0 enhances data consistency, eco-friendly processes, security, and infrastructure agility for the Income Tax Department.

• Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC): Proposed by Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, this 2500 sq km zero-carbon city built with Indian support will boost Bhutan's and Assam's economies.

• National Gopal Ratna Awards 2024: DAHD announced winners in three categories: Best Dairy Farmer, Best Artificial Insemination Technician, and Best Dairy Cooperative/Milk Producer Company, recognizing excellence in the livestock and dairy sector.
