Key Highlights – 25 November 2024

• International Cooperative Alliance (ICA): The ICA, a global organization representing 1 billion cooperative members, will hold its 2024 Global Conference in India for the first time in its 130-year history.

• Ab Koi Bahana Nahi Campaign: A national campaign launching on 25 November 2024 in New Delhi aims to mobilize the public and stakeholders in eliminating gender-based violence.

• PM-Vidyalaxmi Scheme: A Central Sector scheme under NEP 2020, offering collateral-free loans for students admitted to quality Higher Education Institutions (QHEIs), has been launched. RBI reports 17.6% year-on-year growth in education loans.

• Kanhaiyalal Maniklal Munshi (KM Munshi): The visionary leader and freedom fighter, also known as Ghanshyam Vyas, authored over 50 books, including "Bhagwat Gita and Modern Life" and "Saga of Indian Sculpture."

• PROBA3 Mission: On 4 December, PSLV will launch ESA's PROBA3 mission to study the sun’s outer corona through advanced satellite technology.

• Lateral Entry in Civil Services: A committee is examining lateral entry in civil services. Recently, UPSC withdrew an advertisement for filling 45 vacancies via this route.
